Card Changelog, SEO, Tooling — Developer Update September 2026
Hey Trainer!
Since our last update, we've been working on the foundation of masterball and paved our road to Early Access. The technological base of our system has been updated and our tooling has been extended. Additionally, the public sites of masterball HQ received some SEO (search engine optimization) and schema markup optimizations. On the product side, our latest major endeavor is on its way to you: Card Changelog. Also, this very blog, of course!
A few designs for future ideas have been started already and our plans for the near future are set in stone, but more on that when we're ready to share our ideas.
For now, let's dive further into the individual topics!
Card Changelog
The Card Changelog is our next upcoming feature; as of now, it's still in development and testing. The idea of the Card Changelog is that we want to have a history and a pipeline of all kinds of card changes, like new cards that have been imported to masterball, card that we've deleted for any reason, and changes on existing cards. The latter might happen if a card displays the wrong information and needs to be fixed, for example, based on your feedback. We want to make sure to transparently let you know about all of these kinds of changes and give you a tool to keep being updated all the time.
The feature will also serve as a starting point to import cards, so that each card you can collect in masterball, is part of the Card Changelog from the get-go. We hope to bring this feature to you very soon, stay tuned!
In this context, we’d like to emphasize that your feedback is extremely important in ensuring the accuracy of the maps. Although we’re a small team and will import and review every map, the sheer volume of maps is so high that errors can slip through. So if you discover any maps with incorrect information, please let us know via our internal feedback tools so we can correct them.
Blog and content updates
Fitting to the SEO topics, we found value in content creation and providing another stream of information to you. This very blog is one branch of this idea. Instead of only informing you in our sheltered Discord about our progress and updates, having a public place to share them in more detail felt like the correct thing to do. You'll find all kinds of updates here, like feature announcements, developer updates to keep you posted, and also occasionally Pokémon TCG related news.
SEO and Tooling
While masterball is in its last stages before finally entering Early Access, we want to make sure interested people and Pokémon fans can find our little corner of the internet, be it by intent or by accident. Through the content on our blog and website, we want to naturally expand our target audience so that we can reach all of you—the potential masterball trainers!
What we changed are the fundamentals, like the making sure indexation with Google is working fine and adding rich data to site with Schema Markup. We know that this will be a continuous effort as the technology evolves and our site grows.
We've also looked into our development and monitoring tooling so that we're prepared for the Early Access, as this eases how you can share feedback with us and how we can issues with the system easier on our own.
Next steps
As mentioned before, the Early Access isn't too far away now. Many features are already concepted and designed in its infancy, but we now want to finally give you access to masterball as soon as possible before investing too much time into new features already. This takes priority.
Once the Card Changelog is fully implemented, we will invest time into importing the first sets and slowly start to invite users to the platform.
